Mechanical

Responsible for spending 4+ hours each week (during the build season) to build the robot

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Using hand & power tools

• Woodworking, metal cutting

• Prototyping and Experimentation

• Robot construction and assembly

• Electrical system set up

Robot Design

Responsible for designing and creating the blueprint of our robot

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Onshape (CAD software)

• Robot analysis and design

• Physics calculations

• 3D printing

Robot Code

Responsible for developing, testing, and tuning the software aspects of our robot

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Git and Github code collaboration

• Java Programming

• Sensors (i.e ultrasonic, limit switches, etc.)

• PID feedback control

• Computer vision

• Autonomous driving

Marketing

Responsible for our graphic design, social media, and website design in order to spread our team name and develop a brand for ourselves

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Graphic design with Canva

• Web development with Squarespace

• Managing and maintaining a social media presence on our platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin)

Outreach

Responsible for leading events that spread STEM and FIRST ideals and creating community impact

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Leadership, public speaking

• Community impact

• Leading STEM classes

Finance

Responsible for reaching out to and maintaining communications with sponsors/partnerships, finding and applying to grants, and creating fundraisers

Gain hands-on experience with the following:

• Drafting professional emails, grant applications

• Managing incoming and outgoing funds with Hack+

• Creating fundraisers

• Developing a financial plan to prepare for our team’s expenditures
